There is setting a goal and there is a way to achieve that goal. I have worked out with JMP Fitness and Performance for some time but this year I was ready to get serious and make a change. Without Jason’s motivation and dedication to my goal I would not have made it. Jason kept me on track by rotating in new workouts and increasing the difficulty to keep it challenging and producing the results I wanted.

I can go on and on about how great Jason is as a trainer but the results are what matter. I started at the beginning of February 2012 at a weight of 302 lbs., a BMI of 38.8 (obese-class II) and Body Fat % of 33.8. My last weigh in with Jason was mid August at a weight of 216.5 lbs., a BMI of 28.2 (barely over weight) and a body Fat % of 20.4 (Average). That being said, in a little over 6 months I lost over 85 lbs., and dropped my body fat % by over 13%. It has now been 3 months and I am still maintaining my present weight. It is a little harder to stay committed without the motivation of Jason, but he left me a great toolkit and it is up to me to keep that goal that Jason helped me achieve.

I have always considered myself to be an active person but as we get older our bodies just aren’t what they used to be. I knew what I needed to do and where I wanted to be but I needed that push and someone to help keep me motivated when it is so easy to make excuses after a long day of work and Jason was that person. He pushed me and made me believe that I could do it and gave me the tools and knowledge to achieve my goals.

I am still a work in progress but I started this journey at a weight of 162, BMI of 27 and feeling bad about myself to a weight of 149, BMI of 24.8 and feeling more confident. I could barely do 5 girl push-ups and now I do 3 sets of 12 real push-ups. I told Jason I wanted to look and feel great in my wedding dress and in six months he helped me accomplish that goal. Now it’s not just one goal, it is a life style change that I am so happy I made.

“It Brings Tears To My Eyes To Think Of How Far I Progressed, From Hurt To Healthy, In Such A Short Amount Of Time, And How Jason’s Commitment To Me Made It All Possible.”

When I met Jason I was in training for my first marathon. I had only been running for a little over a year, but my friend and I had decided that we would pick a destination marathon (South Africa!), and that we would use our training to raise money for a cause we believed in. I had trained for a few races on my own, but nothing of this magnitude – and after only a couple of months, I was injured. I was really worried that I wouldn’t be able to catch up on my distances, and that the fundraiser would suffer, so I decided that a trainer could help me rehabilitate and properly prepare for race-day. As it turns out, Jason was a perfect match.

He was a runner (hallelujah!), he was incredibly knowledgeable, he was helpful, and he was attentive. He was attentive in the way that trainers stereotypically are not. He was with me 100% during our sessions; he set up my entire week with detailed training instructions (for both running and lifting); he returned all my messages; he checked in on me after long runs and adjusted my schedule accordingly; and he even offered to meet me for weekend runs. All in all, he went above and beyond.

My marathon came and went without a hitch, and I felt strong and fit from start to finish. The course wasn’t easy, but my time with Jason really paid off. The huge success of that race is so far beyond what I could have imagined for myself. It brings tears to my eyes to think of how far I progressed, from hurt to healthy, in such a short amount of time, and how Jason’s commitment to me made it all possible.

n four months of training with JMP Fitness and Performance, (beginning of May 2012 to the beginning of September 2012,) I’ve lost 15 pounds and 6.4% body fat.

I never thought I was fat to start with but I wasn’t happy with the way I looked. I didn’t like the way my clothes fit and I didn’t like the way I felt. Volleyball is my sport, and all my life I’ve struggled to keep a gym routine going. I’ve just never been motivated enough to fight for parking, machines, and space in a busy gym. I’ve had some luck with my own equipment at home, but still nothing consistent. My wife finally convinced me to try out Jason, as she was having good sessions with him. I’ve now been going to Jason and JMP Fitness and Performance twice a week for the past few months religiously, and I’m still really enjoying it!
